Cotton-filled Christmas tree ornament
Share
This time we will make a small soft Christmas tree. The Christmas tree can be used as a decoration for the tree, as a decoration for the table or on top of a gift package. Slip the tree into the neck of a gift bottle or make several decorations and put them in cellophane with chocolates. The recipient will be delighted. You can also sew ribbons from soft trees, stars and hearts and hang them in a window or on the tree. Thread a branch or string through the hanging ribbons and the decoration is ready.
The instructions also include patterns for a soft heart and a star. Both are suitable for decoration or as a gift. The size of the decoration is also easy to change – by enlarging or reducing the pattern you can get the one that suits your needs. The height of the example decoration is about 10–12 cm, but you can also make a mini version for a wreath decoration or a larger table decoration. It is a good idea to glue a wooden disc or plate to the bottom of the table decoration with hot glue, for example, so that the decoration stays upright.
There are no limits to the choice of fabric. All fabrics work, regardless of pattern or material. A more Christmassy option can be achieved by choosing fabrics, but you can also create wintery or neutral tones if the traditional red and green don't appeal to you. You can also decorate the trees and hearts with beads, lace or even embroidery - with small details you can create a Christmas atmosphere that is just yours.

Supplies:
- fabric of your choice, preferably sturdy cotton
- cotton wool for stuffing
- ribbon for hanging
- needle and thread
- lace, beads, ribbons for decoration. (optional)
Print the pattern .pdf in the shape you want. A tree, a heart or a star.
HEART . pdf STAR .pdf SIX .pdf
Cut out the printed image from the paper and place it on the canvas. Cut two pieces of the canvas.
Place the cut fabric trees right sides together. You can use safety pins to hold the pieces in place. Cut a piece of your chosen hanging string about 12 cm long, fold the piece in half and place the string between the two pieces of fabric.

Sew the pieces together at the edges, but leave about a 3 cm opening on the right side.

Turn the sewing right side out and fill with batting. Use enough batting to make the tree look good. Make sure the tree is not too loose or too "chubby". Hand-knit the opening.

Your soft Christmas tree is now ready. You can decorate the tree with lace, beads, ribbons or drawings if you wish. The artist has freedom in this case too.
