
Wool socks size 38: instructions
Weaving woolen socks is a tradition that has kept its place from generation to generation. It is not only a relaxing hobby, but also an excellent way to make warm and comfortable socks for cold winter days. Here are instructions on how to knit wool socks in size 38 yourself.
Supplies:
Sock yarn (e.g. 7 brothers) about 100-150g
Needles No. 4 or depending on the craft
Scissors and eye needle for finishing the thread ends
Abbreviations:
o = right loop
n = purl loop
2o total = knit two together
2 in total = two purl stitches together
senior = overdraft reduction
Arm:
Cast on 48 stitches on one needle.
Divide the stitches on four needles: 12 stitches per needle. Form the loops into a ring carefully without stretching.
1.-10. Row: Knit 2k, 2k repeat ** the whole row.
Continue knitting rib knit (2o, 2n) until the length of the stem is about 15 cm or the desired length.
Heel:
Knit the first 24 loops (two needles). These stitches form the heel and the remaining 24 stitches (two needles) are left waiting.
Knit 26 rows with the heel loops always right back and forth on the wrong side of the work.
Begin heel tapers:
Knit 15 rows, 2 rows together, row, turn the work.
Knit 6 n, 2n together, n, turn the work.
Knit until 1 stitch remains before the previous decrease point, 2g in total, g, turn the work.
Knit until 1 stitch remains before the previous decrease point, 2n in total, n, turn the work.
Repeat the decreases until all side loops have been decreased. There should be 12 stitches left.
Wedge reductions:
Pick up 12 stitches from the side of the heel and knit them correctly. Knit the remaining stitches correctly and pick up 12 more stitches from the other side of the heel. Continue knitting right until you reach the starting point of the gussets.
Make a wedge decrease: knit until there are 3 stitches left on the first needle, 2g in total, p. Start the next row with a row, sl st.
Knit three layers without decreases.
Repeat the wedge decreases every fourth row until there are again 12 stitches on each needle.
Blade:
Continue knitting correctly until the blade length (measured from the heel) is approx. 16 cm or until approx. 4 cm of the instep length remains.
Tip reductions:
Start the tip decreases: Knit until there are 3 stitches left on the first needle, 2g in total, p. Start the next row with a row, sl st. Repeat the decreases on all needles.
Knit two layers without decreases.
Repeat the tip decreases every third row until there are 2 stitches left on each needle.
Cut the thread and pull it through the loops. Tighten and wrap the thread ends carefully.
